Understanding Asthma: Symptoms and CBD Benefits

Understanding Asthma: Symptoms and CBD Benefits

Understanding Asthma: Symptoms and CBD Benefits

Asthma, a persistent inflammatory lung disease, affects the airways, causing bronchial tube inflammation and increased secretion. Join us in exploring the symptoms of asthma and the potential benefits of CBD.

Asthma symptoms vary in intensity during attacks, including wheezing, persistent coughing, chest tightness, and breathlessness. This condition can impact individuals of all ages, with heightened vulnerability in the young and elderly, evoking anxiety during attacks.

Symptoms of an asthma attack encompass severe wheezing, relentless coughing, rapid breathing, chest pain or pressure, tightened neck and chest muscles (retractions), difficulty speaking, feelings of anxiety or panic, a pale, sweaty face, and blue lips or fingernails.

The severity of an asthma episode can rapidly escalate, emphasizing the importance of immediate treatment upon recognition. If you suspect asthma, consult your primary care doctor promptly.

Extensive research highlights CBD’s potential benefits in treating asthma, particularly during acute episodes. CBD, a cannabinoid, binds to receptors, influencing neurotransmitter activity and delivering various advantages:

  • CBD’s Anti-Inflammatory and Bronchodilator Properties: During an asthma attack, bronchoconstriction induces muscular spasms. CBD’s bronchodilator properties facilitate increased oxygen flow in the airways, showcasing its effectiveness in asthma treatment.
  • CBD’s Bactericidal Properties: While asthma is often linked to race, genetics, and family history, certain infections, like Streptococcus pneumonia, can trigger it. CBD’s bactericidal properties contribute to treating infections that may induce asthma.
  • CBD’s Analgesic Properties: Known for its potent analgesic nature, CBD interacts with pain receptors, alleviating chest pain sensations associated with asthma. It aids asthma patients in managing asthma-related pain by triggering an analgesic response.

In conclusion, the synergistic relationship between CBD’s anti-inflammatory, bronchodilator, bactericidal, and analgesic properties positions it as a potential aid in managing asthma symptoms. Join us in delving deeper into Asthma Symptoms and CBD Benefits.

The Hemp Revolution in Texas: A Legal Milestone

The Hemp Revolution in Texas: A Legal Milestone

The Hemp Revolution in Texas: A Legal Milestone

In the vast landscape of Texas, where history intertwines with innovation, a quiet revolution has been unfolding—one that challenges age-old stigmas and paves the way for a new era of legality. At the heart of this transformation is hemp, a versatile and misunderstood plant that has, for decades, faced unwarranted restrictions. Today, we embark on a journey through time, exploring the historical tapestry of hemp in Texas, understanding its wrongful criminalization, and celebrating the pivotal moment that marks a legal milestone. Join us for the Hemp Revolution in Texas.

I. Introduction

Texas, known for its rugged individualism and pioneering spirit, has been no stranger to the cultivation of hemp. This journey of hemp liberation owes much to the decisive actions of Governor Greg Abbott, whose commitment has untangled the plant from the web of misconceptions that have ensnared it for decades.

II. Historical Perspective

Long before the European settlers stepped onto American soil, hemp was already being cultivated by Native Americans in the New World. The colonial years saw American farmers embrace hemp, utilizing it to craft an array of products—from sturdy ropes to paper and even lamp fuel. The plant’s strong fibers played a crucial role in construction, solidifying its place in early American industries during the 17th and 18th centuries.

III. Wrongful Criminalization

However, the trajectory of hemp took an unfortunate turn due to its genetic association with marijuana. The failure to differentiate between the two plants led to the criminalization of all cannabis, with individual states and the U.S. federal government imposing restrictions. This misunderstanding persisted for over 78 years, with hemp being penalized for a crime it did not commit.

The Marijuana Tax Act of 1937 added a $100 transfer tax on hemp sales, leading to a downturn in its cultivation. Though this act did not explicitly prohibit hemp growth, the cumbersome regulations made it challenging for farmers to continue its cultivation.

IV. The Turning Point: 2018 Farm Bill

The winds of change finally blew with the passage of The Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018, commonly known as the 2018 Farm Bill. This legislative landmark not only decriminalized hemp but also removed it from the controlled substances list. This meant that hemp became legal in the majority of U.S. states, marking a turning point in the plant’s tumultuous history.

V. Hemp Cultivation in Texas

The legalization wave did not exclude the expansive fields of Texas. Thanks to the 2018 Farm Bill, Texans gained the legal right to produce and sell hemp-derived CBD products. This newfound freedom, however, comes with conditions. For hemp strains to be considered legal, the levels of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) must not exceed 0.3%.

While Texas has not legalized recreational marijuana, the door swung open for the cultivation, purchase, and consumption of hemp. It’s a nuanced distinction, and Texans can now revel in the benefits of hemp without the legal repercussions associated with marijuana.

VI. Conclusion

The hemp revolution in Texas is more than a legal triumph; it’s a testament to the evolving understanding of this versatile plant. From being wrongly accused to standing tall as a legally recognized entity, hemp’s journey mirrors the resilience embedded in the Texan spirit.

What Are Three Types Of CBD?

What Are Three Types Of CBD?

What are the three types of CBD?

You\’ll find three main types of CBD on the market:

  • Isolate contains only CBD, with no other cannabinoids.
  • Full-spectrum contains all cannabinoids naturally found in the cannabis plant, including THC.
  • Broad-spectrum contains multiple cannabinoids naturally found in the cannabis plant but doesn’t contain THC.
Isolate CBD

Isolate refers to a type of CBD that is isolated from the rest of the compounds in the cannabis plant. After CBD concentrate is extracted and separated from the rest of the compounds in the plant, it then goes through a winterization process, which extracts any remaining waxes, terpenes, or cannabinoids. This creates a CBD product that tests as high as 99% pure CBD.

Full Spectrum CBD
Extracts a full profile of beneficial cannabinoids and terpenes from the cannabis plant. Sometimes referred to as the whole plant CBD, full-spectrum will contain trace amounts of THC, but not enough to get you “high.”

While full-spectrum CBD and whole-plant CBD are very similar, whole-plant CBD is less refined than full-spectrum and will contain fats, waxes, and other fibrous materials from the hemp plant. This type of CBD can be created using many different extraction methods.

Broad Spectrum CBD

Broad-spectrum CBD is the middle-ground option between isolate and full-spectrum CBD. It begins as a full-spectrum oil, with a full range of beneficial cannabinoids and terpenes, but it then goes through a refinement process to remove all THC compounds.

CBD is generally well-tolerated and safe to use, though negative reactions, such as fatigue and digestive issues, are possible.

Talk to your doctor before taking CBD if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, have any medical conditions, or take any OTC or prescription medications or supplements.

CBD has the potential to interact with medications, including those that also interact with grapefruit.
